Dr. Martin Greig, Associate Professor in the Department of History, has been a permanent faculty member at Toronto Metropolitan University since 2003. Before that he worked as a lecturer at both Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto. He has taught courses in a wide variety of fields, including: early modern Britain, the British Empire, medieval Europe, Europe from 1350 to the present, ideas that changed the world, history through film, and the Cold War. His area of research interest and expertise is England and Scotland between 1660 and 1715. Dr. Greig has published numerous articles in academic journals such as The Historical Journal; The Journal of Ecclesiastical History; Archives; Church History and The Canadian Journal of History. At present he is writing a biography of the 17th-century Scottish-born cleric and author, Gilbert Burnet. Dr. Greig is the treasurer of the Midwest Conference on British Studies and is also a member of the graduate faculty.
