Dr. Deborah Fels holds a BASc (Guelph), MHSc, PhD (Toronto), and a PEng. She received her PhD in Industrial Engineering and her MHSc in Clinical Engineering. She is currently an assistant professor at Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management, and is the Director of the Centre for Learning Technologies at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has been an assistant professor in Computer Science at the University of Guelph (1993-1995), and a researcher in the Microcomputer Applications Programme at Bloorview MacMillan Rehabilitation Centre (BMC). Before returning to complete her PhD, she was the Director of Biomedical Engineering (1987-1990) at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough. She is also a professional engineer. Much of her research activity is carried out in conjunction with BMC in Toronto and the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre at the University of Toronto.
