Dr. Cory Searcy is the Toronto Metropolitan University CUE Hydro One Principal Investigator funded to work on Reducing the Carbon Footprint at Hydro One. With a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Assistant Professor Searcy previously taught at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Searcy is currently an Associate with the International Institute for Sustainable Development in Winnipeg, Manitoba, serving as project manager on an internal study on the use of sustainability indicators in corporate decision-making. Among his published papers, Dr. Searcy won the Best Paper Award from Measuring Business Excellence in 2009 for "Setting a Course for Corporate Sustainability Performance Measurement" (Measuring Business Excellence, Vol. 13, No. 3, pp. 49-57). Dr. Searcy's CUE endeavours build on previous research as Principal Investigator related to urban energy and sustainability, including: "Sustainability in the Supply Chain at Ontario Power Generation" funded by the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC); "Building Sustainability into Supply Chain Management" funded by the Canadian Purchasing Research Foundation; "Reducing Chloride Corrosion of Stainless Steel" funded by MITACS; "Corporate Sustainable Development Performance Measurement" funded by NSERC); and "Chloride Treatment at the Blind River Refinery" funded by the Cameco Corporation.
